The Youth Services Team organises the annual competitions for the local schools in Congleton.
These events are very popular and are well supported by the schools
Winners of some of these competitions have the opportunity to progress on to Rotary district and even national competitions.
The Young Chef competition starts in April with the final in June.
Competitors have to cook a two courtse meal which is then judged by a leading Congleton Chef and hotel owner.
Prizes are awarderd to the winners of each school and there is an overal prize for the winner of the competition.
Some excellent food is cooked and club membeers always look forward to sampling the delights of this competition.
The Young Artist Competition is always very popular with the schools and the hundres of entries give the judges shown here a the difficult task of choosing the winners.
This Competition starts in February with the presentations in July.
There is an overall Winners prize in each age group and prizes are awarded to the winners of each school
Young Photographer is another popular event with again hundreds of entries. On completion of the competition the entries are displayed in Congleton’s library.
The competion has a theme which changes every year and starts in January with the presentations in April.
Again there are prizes for the overall winner and for the winners fro each school.
Youth Speaks – “It’s time to have your Say”
This competition starts in January with the district finals in March. The schools enter a team of three, Chairperson, Speaker and a person to give the Vote of Thanks.
Team and individual certificates and trophies are awarded.
Stars of ther Future
Rotary-Congleton is invited to visit the schools to recognise an individual or a team of pupils who have done something special.
